The “Ides of March”

Hello, All-

It’s the ”Ides of March” and spring is almost here!  We have been fortunate to have a mild winter, but I will be happy when spring is “official.”  March 20^th is the date to keep in mind.

New items at Just As Nice include new lines of artisan jewelry, handmade and hand-stamped silk scarves (great gift items) and “one of a kind” handmade dresses from a local designer who is a recent graduate from the Art Institute in Boston.  Who knows?  You could be supporting the next Sara Campbell or Joseph Abboud when you buy a KemKem Studios piece.  Ask to see them when you come to the store.

New additions to our jewelry collection will include PickChick earrings as soon as I can order them.  They are really cute guitar pick earrings that I found out in California the last time I was there.  I am sure they will be a hugely popular item with you girls.

Right now, we are clearing out winter clothing items to make room for our spring and summer inventory waiting to be racked.  It’s a great time for discounts—20% off on clothing over thirty days old and 40% off on clothing over sixty days old.  Check it out—you might fall in love without having to break the bank!

New features on our website include our Consignment Agreement to read and printout before you consign with us.  Of course, I will be happy to answer any questions about it that you might have.

One last reminder, anyone wanting to pick up unsold consignment items must make an appointment to do so.  Please call me at the store and I will be happy to work with you on a time and day for pickup.

Welcome!

If you have been to Just As Nice, you will know that “Welcome” is my usual greeting.  Now, I am able to to extend that greeting to everyone through our new website!

Since opening in 2009, I have been too busy with the everyday tasks of running the store to concentrate on our web presence.  Finally, through the insistent urging and talent of Maria, whom most of you know through the store, we are on-line! (If any of you need website design, contact me and I will put you in touch with her.)

2011 was a turning point for us.  We became able to support the business from sales alone, without additional funding from outside sources (me…).  So, to all of you who have shopped with us and supported the store—Thank You!  The Holiday Season was especially good to us this year with many new faces and desperate husbands looking for gift ideas.  (I love when men come in looking like “deer in the headlights” and leave happy and relieved.)  Again, I thank all of you who have shopped here or referred friends and family to Just As Nice.

Plans for next year include the possibility of more space if I can find an affordable store close to where we are now.  More space would bring more of the ideas I have to service the community and my customers.  If you know of anything on Centre Street coming available, please let me know.

Finally, I encourage you to send feedback and ideas that would make shopping with us more enjoyable for you.  I will be “blogging” from time to time and would love your feedback.
